Emily was raised in suburban Australia, as the third of seven children. (Her parents are not religious and as far as she knows they never belonged to a cult-- they just love kids).

After reading History and Politics at the University of Oxford, Emily toured to the Edinburgh Fringe as a writer/actor with the Oxford Revue, interned at Warner Brothers (Los Angeles), took improv at Upright Citizens Brigade, and started screenwriting.

She was a 2021 Academy Nicholl Quarterfinalist, 2021/22 Minderoo Artist Fellow, a 2023 Ian Potter Emerging Artist grantee, and a 2024 state finalist for RAW Comedy (Australia’s most prestigious stand-up competition). She recently completed an eight-week Australians in Film writing residency at Charlie's on The Lot in LA, where she developed her new half-hour workplace comedy, BONDI RANGERS.

She presently lives, eats, and food-comas in Rome, Italy. In the future, she hopes to pursue her long-held dream of becoming the most uncoordinated wrestler in the WWE.
